Canyon Ranch Austin is seeking professional, service-oriented Loss Prevention Officers to help create a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for guests, colleagues, and visitors. As a member of the Loss Prevention team, you will protect resort assets, support emergency response efforts, monitor property activity, and assist guests and colleagues while upholding Canyon Ranch's luxury hospitality standards. The ideal candidate is observant, dependable, and approachable, with the ability to provide exceptional service while maintaining a strong commitment to safety and security.

Responsibilities

Safety & Security Operations

  • Patrol guest areas, wellness facilities, parking areas, trails, and back-of-house spaces to ensure a safe and secure environment.
  • Monitor CCTV, access control systems, alarms, and other security equipment.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests, incidents, emergencies, and safety concerns.
  • Assist with investigations involving accidents, incidents, lost and found items, policy violations, and security concerns.
  • Complete detailed and accurate incident reports and daily activity logs.
  • Support key control, access management, and credential verification procedures.
  • Assist with traffic control, special events, VIP arrivals, and resort activities as needed.

Guest & Colleague Support

  • Provide directions, information, and assistance to guests and colleagues throughout the resort.
  • Serve as a visible and approachable presence while maintaining a professional demeanor.
  • Support service recovery efforts by assisting guests during unexpected situations or emergencies.
  • Promote a positive guest experience through courteous and proactive interactions.

Emergency Response & Life Safety

  • Respond to medical emergencies, fire alarms, severe weather events, and other emergency situations.
  • Assist with evacuations and emergency procedures when required.
  • Participate in emergency drills, safety training, and ongoing department development programs.
  • Report unsafe conditions and potential hazards to leadership immediately.
Qualifications

What You'll Need to Be Successful:

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in hospitality security, law enforcement, military, customer service, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong communication, observation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations.
  • Ability to work outdoors and walk extended distances throughout a large resort environment.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including weekends, evenings, holidays, and overnight shifts.
  • CPR, First Aid, and AED certified
  • Experience with CCTV, access control, and incident reporting systems preferred.
  • Prior luxury hotel or resort experience preferred

The pay rate for this position starts at $22.12/hour.
