Job description

We are seeking a driven and experienced Food Production Manager to oversee and support our daily production operations in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for maintaining safety, quality, and compliance standards while optimizing production output, efficiencies, and cost control. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food processing, preferably within the meat industry and demonstrated success in managing teams, improving operations, and upholding food safety protocols.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure full compliance with OSHA, plant safety policies, and regulatory health and safety guidelines.

  • Collaborate with plant leadership to increase production output, improve line efficiencies, and meet daily/weekly production goals.

  • Maintain and enforce production and quality control standards in accordance with GFSI, GMP, SSOP, and HACCP programs.

  • Uphold and execute food security policies to mitigate potential food safety risks in the handling, storage, and manufacturing of ingredients and finished goods.

  • Minimize product loss and waste, reduce downtime, and improve overall product yields through data-driven decision making.

  • Assist in controlling operational expenses including raw material, labor, and overhead costs.

  • Supervise staffing levels, conduct employee performance evaluations, implement corrective actions, and promote accountability across the team.

  • Coordinate and deliver employee training; identify and resolve labor or production issues to ensure optimal team performance.

  • Oversee and contribute to the development and execution of daily production schedules.

  • Ensure timely and professional resolution of production-related customer complaints.

  • Maintain accurate documentation, records, and reporting in line with regulatory and internal standards.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Management, Chemistry, or a related field and/or 3+ years of relevant manufacturing/management experience in a food production environment.

  • Prior experience working with GFSI and HACCP programs is required.

  • Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.

  • Proven track record of using shop floor control metrics to drive improvements in quality, efficiency, and waste reduction.

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, including statistical analysis capabilities.

  • Strong attention to detail to ensure thorough documentation and compliance.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills across all levels of the organization.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).

  • Must be able to pass E-Verify (I-9), background check, and drug screening.

  • Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs as needed.
