We are seeking an experienced Assistant Property Manager to join our team and help us carry out our vision. The candidate must be team oriented with experience in affordable housing, residential property management. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Communicates all problems and special cases and makes recommendations to the Property Manager and the Property Supervisor.
  • Processes re-certifications (i.e., sets up interviews, assist with filling out forms, follows up with processing information, performs rent calculations, prepares leases).
  • Inspects site grounds and common hallways on a regular basis.
  • Monitors make-ready status of vacant apartments.
  • Conducts housekeeping home visits, and marketing outreach to local agencies and businesses.
  • Acts as a liaison and advocate on behalf of the residents to public and private agencies.
  • Carries out rent collection program and follow-up procedures for delinquent rent and evictions in accordance with approved HHDC policies.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma (minimum); 2-year or 4-year degree a plus.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products and property management software.
  • Affordable housing leasing experience required (2-year minimum).
  • Must have or be able to obtain State of Illinois AMP Leasing Certificate.
  • Must have experience working with the Tax Credit program/affordable housing.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English/Spanish required.
  • Confident, positive attitude and manner.
  • Able to interact effectively with wide range of people.
