This role will oversee all aspects of automation construction and commissioning on New Development projects as well as Maintenance projects. Responsible for completing projects as per schedule. Perform a variety of tasks including scheduling for project timelines, scheduling resources on projects, review of engineering design documents and validate facility compliance with engineering documents, red-line documentation as needed, update status reports on projects to leadership. Responsible to manage more than one project at a time.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Participates in TOTS and M&C project meetings
  • Ensures engineering documentation is available for automation commissioning
  • Facilitate alignment and allocation of manpower resources on projects
  • Align PLC programming integrator resources to function test and validate all automation equipment on site (devices, LOIs, switches, RTUs, etc.) as per engineering design
  • Collaborates with respective construction teams on site regarding IFC designs, verifies automation engineering design deliverables to site IFC and works to resolve discrepancies through automation engineering.
  • Communicates construction and commissioning issues with engineering and provides red-lined documents where applicable
  • Reports on project status and ensures commissioning documents and status reports are completed
  • Collaborates with all project managers on facilities and M&C projects (Mechanical and Electrical scopes of work)
  • Local Asset representative for Automation Team to Production Ops Business Unit
  • Creates an environment where members of the team make the day-to-day decisions while providing the tools, training, and support needed to make those decisions
  • Ensure working environment is conducive to meeting Business Unit's production and safety targets
  • Remove roadblocks and impediments, foster process improvements with engineering
  • Ensures compliance with Oxy standards and best practices
  • Identify and communicate design challenges and offer improvement suggestions to engineering
  • Identify and enhance inefficiencies of processes and control equipment
  • Participates in continuous improvement teams
  • Affectively engage with and utilize resources internal and external of business unit
  • Participate in technical reviews of assets and/or new business ventures
  • Participate in annual and long-term business planning
  • Participate in staffing plans to ensure adequate staffing level to support business plans
  • Participate in the recruiting, hiring, and onboarding of employees that are a good fit for the position & organization
  • Assist in promoting the development of team members professional and technical skills
  • Assist in Developing and/or managing programs, systems, and practices for maintaining & enhancing a safe, productive, and environmentally sound work environment
  • Support operations with training on automation control system functions

Education:

  • 4 year technical degree or equivalent working experience

Professional/Technical Knowledge:

  • Advanced knowledge of oil and gas automation systems

Experience:

  • 6 + years of Oil Field experience
  • 2 + years of Managerial experience preferred
  • 2 + years of Project Management Experience preferred
