SSOE is looking for an Assistant Project Manager for our Process Operations team. This person will play a critical role in supporting projects within the industry for a diverse list of leading-edge clients.  As an Assistant Project Manager, you will be responsible for supporting Project Managers lead multi-discipline engineering, design and architectural teams in both small and medium projects from scope development through complete design packages and complete project execution. Locations available include Toledo (OH), Lima (OH), and Midland (MI).

A Typical Day Might Include:

The following duties are typical of the position, but are not all encompassing. Responsibilities include those required to deliver quality service on schedule and within budget in a team environment.

  • Assist relevant managers with day to day project tasks, staffing, work plans, schedules, budgets, etc.
  • Assist in preparing project plans, budgets, and control procedures.
  • Under supervision of manager, manages “small” scope projects.
  • Under supervision of manager, assists in the evaluation of consultants and outsourcing partners (under the supervision of Manager) for utilization on multi-functional projections.
  • Assist is securing P.O. and invoicing for consultants and outsourcing partners.
  • May act as the liaison between project teams, consultants and outsourcing partners.
  • Follows established procedures to effectively administer project, (i.e., cost estimating, correspondence, documents controls, weekly/monthly performance reports, etc.
  • Communicates project requirements to team members.
  • May assist in the training of other Assistant Project Managers or project team members to familiarize them with SSOE or the project specific requirements.
  • Assist in coordinating meetings and establishes all paper flow and document control with project teams, contractors, regulatory agencies and others involved.
  • May attend project meetings to take meeting minutes and prepare for distribution.
  • Occasional travel as needed for project coordination or training.
  • Valid driver’s license required. May be waived for international assignments.

Qualifications You’ll Need on Day One:

  • Bachelor Degree in in Business, Technology, Project Management or related field.
  • 3 years related experience, or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • CAPM Certification is encouraged.
  • Good facilitator with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experienced in the following software packages: (Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and SharePoint).
  • Salary Range: $70,000-$80,000/year depending on location, education, experience, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.
