Overview

The Manufacturing, Senior Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the complete delivery of fabrication and modular construction projects from project award through final completion. This position manages project scope, schedule, budget, risk, and cross-functional coordination to ensure safe, profitable, and successful execution. The Senior Project Manager serves as the primary leader responsible for aligning engineering, procurement, fabrication, logistics, quality, and field operations while ensuring project objectives, customer expectations, and business goals are achieved.

Responsibilities
  • Oversees the entire project lifecycle, managing scope, schedule, cost, quality, and execution strategies from project kickoff through closeout.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for customers, stakeholders, subcontractors, vendors, and internal project teams.
  • Develops and manages project execution plans, schedules, budgets, resource requirements, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Coordinates activities across engineering, procurement, fabrication, quality, logistics, commissioning, and construction teams to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Monitors project performance against scope, schedule, budget, and productivity targets.
  • Leads project planning and execution meetings while ensuring alignment across all project stakeholders.
  • Reviews engineering deliverables, procurement plans, fabrication schedules, transportation plans, and installation activities to verify project readiness.
  • Manages project financial performance including forecasting, cost control, earned value reporting, change management, and profitability analysis.
  • Identifies, evaluates, and mitigates project risks that could impact project performance, schedule, safety, quality, or customer satisfaction.
  • Oversees customer communications and maintains strong relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinates long-lead equipment procurement activities to support fabrication and project schedules.
  • Reviews and negotiates contracts, purchase orders, subcontract agreements, and change orders as required.
  • Facilitates issue resolution between project teams, suppliers, customers, and operations personnel.
  • Ensures compliance with contractual obligations, company policies, regulatory requirements, safety standards, and quality expectations.
  • Supports fabrication operations by ensuring engineering, materials, labor, and equipment resources are aligned with project milestones.
  • Provides leadership, coaching, and direction to project managers, project engineers, coordinators, and support personnel.
  • Drives continuous improvement initiatives that enhance project execution, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
  • Document and quantify scope change/revisions and prepares, executes, and manages change order.
  • Prepares and submits invoices for milestone billing as appropriate.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Business Administration, or a related field or 4 years of exp in lieu of degree.
  • Six years of project management experience in fabrication, modular construction, manufacturing, energy infrastructure, industrial construction, or related industries.
  • Two years of leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated experience managing large-scale, multidisciplinary projects with significant budgets and complex stakeholder requirements.
  • Strong understanding of engineering, fabrication, procurement, logistics, construction, and project controls processes.
  • Proven experience managing project scope, schedule, cost, risk, and contractual requirements.
  • Strong leadership and team development skills.
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and prioritization abilities.
  • Effective negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software, ERP systems, scheduling platforms, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of industry regulations, customer requirements, and competitive market conditions.
  • Ability to multitask and perform duties outside the scope of work when necessary.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in successfully managing projects >$50m.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification.
  • Experience managing modular fabrication, industrial manufacturing, process systems, utility infrastructure, or energy projects.
  • MBA or advanced degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or Project Management.
  • Experience with EPC, design-build, or integrated project delivery environments.
  • Knowledge of Lean Construction, Lean Manufacturing, or Continuous Improvement methodologies.

  • 20-35% travel required for this position
