Interiors Project Manager ($85,000-$100,000 Salary Range)


Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Interiors Project Manager to lead the design and execution of small to midsize interior projects, as well as defined portions of larger assignments. This position will guide projects from schematic design through construction administration while ensuring the design vision is translated into thoughtful, functional, and buildable solutions.

The ideal candidate combines strong interior design expertise, technical proficiency, and project leadership skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, consultants, vendors, contractors, and internal design teams.


Key Responsibilities


Project Leadership and Design Execution

  • Lead interior design efforts on small to midsize projects or assigned portions of larger projects under the guidance of senior leadership
  • Translate design concepts into clear, coordinated, and buildable interior solutions
  • Manage interior design deliverables from schematic design through construction administration
  • Prepare and coordinate interior drawing sets, finish plans, details, schedules, and specifications
  • Maintain the original design intent throughout documentation and construction
  • Balance design quality, project requirements, budgets, and schedules


Client and Team Collaboration

  • Participate in client meetings, presentations, and design workshops
  • Communicate design concepts clearly through drawings, presentations, and verbal communication
  • Coordinate with architects, consultants, vendors, contractors, and other project partners
  • Support alignment among all disciplines throughout the design and construction process
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to a collaborative studio culture
  • Manage multiple priorities and deadlines with minimal supervision


Construction Support

  • Assist with construction administration activities, including submittal reviews, requests for information, site visits, and punch lists
  • Evaluate field conditions and develop practical solutions that maintain design quality
  • Coordinate with contractors and consultants to address construction related questions
  • Support the project team through final completion and closeout


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or a related field
  • Minimum of five years of professional experience within an architecture or interiors studio
  • Strong proficiency in Revit
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and rendering software
  • Strong understanding of interior detailing, materials, finishes, and construction methods
  • Experience managing multiple assignments, priorities, and deadlines
  • Commercial interiors experience within workplace, retail, hospitality, mixed use, or similar project types
  • Working knowledge of applicable building codes, accessibility standards, and interior life safety requirements
  • NCIDQ eligibility or demonstrated progress toward certification
