Emily Ace Hardware is looking for friendly, motivated Sales Associates or Retail Cashiers to join our team.  If you enjoy helping people,

Sales Associates don’t just sell products – they help customers solve problems.  In this role you’ll assist customers throughout the store while supporting daily store operations including stocking, merchandising, and maintaining a clean and organized environment.  Cashiers will receive cash from customers or associates in payment for goods or services in a quick and friendly manner while providing genuine customer service.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Customer Service

  • Greet customers warmly and assist them throughout the store
  • Drive Sales by helping customers find solutions for home improvement and hardware projects and helping customers find any needed items to complete their project.
  • Deliver personalized service with the goal of “Amazing Every Customer, Every Time”
  • Maintain strong knowledge of store products and layout
  • Handle customer questions and concerns and escalate concerns to management when needed
  • Answer store phones and pages promptly and courteously, using good phone etiquette.
  • Remain honest and communicative with customers, associates and management

 Store Operations

  • Receive, check in, and stock merchandise, rotate stock, help keep accurate inventory
  • Maintain organized shelves, displays, and back stock areas
  • Assist with merchandising, seasonal resets, and promotional displays
  • Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized sales floor and stockroom
  • Ensure signage and pricing are accurate
  • Participate in team meetings and support store initiatives and goals
  • Follows all store and department policies and procedures.
  • Performs fixed activities as assigned.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
  • Use provided communication and own tools, in an effort to help the team work in the most efficient way

Cashier:

  • Manage transactions using a register
  • Scanning goods and ensuring pricing and quantities are accurate, in an efficient and prompt manner
  • Accepting payments in cash, credit, or check and providing receipts
  • Bagging purchased goods
  • Ensures proper handling of all forms of tender and coupons.
  • Processes and is accountable for other services handled at the register.

  • Some hardware knowledge is preferred but not required
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Willingness to learn about hardware products and home improvement solutions
  • Retail, hardware, or trade experience helpful but not required

  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Write routine reports and correspondence
  • Present information and respond to questions from customers or associates
