At Ceres Caribe, we believe you’re more than just an employee; you’re part of a team with a purpose and a meaningful mission. Whether in management, field operations, or behind the scenes, every team member plays a vital role in restoring hope, helping communities recover and rebuild.

This role will support project accounting, job costing, billing, subcontractor documentation, cost tracking, financial reporting, and audit readiness for active projects. The Project Accountant will work closely with Finance, Project Managers, Operations, Payroll, Procurement, subcontractors, and client-facing teams to ensure accurate project financial data, timely billing support, and strong cost control.

The ideal candidate has experience in construction accounting, project accounting, job costing, or government-funded project environments. This role requires strong attention to detail, comfort working with ERP systems such as Viewpoint Vista or similar construction accounting platforms, and the ability to support fast-moving field operations with accurate financial information.

What You Will Do

  • Support project accounting, job costing, billing, and financial reporting for assigned projects.
  • Track labor, equipment, materials, subcontractor, vendor, and other project costs.
  • Maintain accurate project records in Viewpoint Vista or similar ERP systems.
  • Assist with project P&L reports, cost summaries, variance reviews, and margin tracking.
  • Support Work-in-Progress reporting, forecasting, revenue tracking, and month-end close activities.
  • Review subcontractor invoices, supplier invoices, purchase orders, lien releases, and supporting documentation.
  • Assist with progress billing, changing orders, schedule of values, and client billing packages.
  • Support documentation requirements for municipal, utility, or government-funded projects, as applicable.
  • Reconcile project costs, vendor statements, subcontractor billings, and project-related accounts.
  • Maintain organized financial records and audit files.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers and Operations teams to resolve cost coding, billing, or documentation issues.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in project accounting, construction accounting, job costing, or related accounting functions.
  • Experience with project cost tracking, billing support, reconciliations, and financial documentation.
  • Working knowledge of job costing, cost codes, purchase orders, invoices, and subcontractor billings.
  • Experience using Vista, or a similar ERP/accounting system.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-up.
  • Ability to work with Finance, Operations, Project Managers, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in disaster recovery, civil construction, utility, vegetation management, infrastructure, or government-funded projects.
  • Hands-on experience with Viewpoint Vista.
  • Experience supporting municipal, or federally funded billing/documentation.
  • Experience with WIP reporting, project forecasting, revenue tracking, or project closeout.
  • Understanding of project P&L, margin tracking, billing cycles, and cash flow impact.

What to Expect

This is a fast-paced project accounting role that requires accuracy, follow-up, and strong coordination with finance and field operations. You will support active projects where cost tracking, billing, documentation, and reporting must be completed correctly and on time.

Daily work may include reviewing project costs, reconciling invoices, supporting billing packages, updating ERP records, following up on missing documentation, and preparing project accounting reports.

  • Primarily office-based role with occasional travel to project sites or operational offices.
  • Ability to work on a computer and review financial documents for extended periods.

  • PPE may be required during project site visits.
  • Must follow all company safety standards and site-specific protocols.
