Position Overview

The Mechanical Engineering role is responsible for designing specialized tools used in nuclear services field work. This position supports tooling design, fabrication oversight, and tool implementation during nuclear field execution.

Location: Kitchener, OntarioYour Day-to-Day as a Mechanical Engineer
  • Design conceptual service tools for machining, welding, inspection, and related field applications.
  • Develop detailed design plans and conduct tool design reviews.
  • Consult and collaborate with nuclear services project engineers, component project engineers, field technicians, and boilermakers.
  • Engage with fabrication vendors and incorporate feedback from stakeholders.
  • Produce manufacturing drawings and documentation required for tool fabrication.
  • Support and review tool testing, adjustments, and modifications during project execution.
  • When required, provide hands-on oversight during field implementation of critical tooling activities in a nuclear power plant environment.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Applied Science or equivalent.
  • Typically less than 5 years of experience in a nuclear service environment.
  • Experience working with fabrication vendors (desired).
  • Exposure to field tooling applications in nuclear services (desired).
  • Strong ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary technical teams (desired).

Security Clearance:This role requires the successful candidate to complete the security clearance process.  The security clearance process is conducted in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements of the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) and the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) and may take up to 12 months to complete.

The base salary range for this position in Ontario (CA-ON) at the start of employment is expected to be between $88000 and $129000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits.
