We are actively seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join a growing heavy civil construction organization. In this role, you will support the successful delivery of infrastructure projects by partnering with project leadership, field teams, subcontractors, vendors, and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle. This opportunity is ideal for a construction professional with experience in civil works, underground utilities, roadway improvements, or site development who is ready to expand their project management expertise while contributing to meaningful, large-scale projects.

What You'll Be Responsible For
  • Coordinate project activities and assist in guiding projects from preconstruction planning through final completion.
  • Support budgeting efforts, schedule management, forecasting, and cost monitoring initiatives.
  • Maintain communication with subcontractors, suppliers, field personnel, and project stakeholders to keep work progressing efficiently.
  • Review construction documents, plans, specifications, submittals, and RFIs to support project execution.
  • Organize and maintain accurate project records, reports, and documentation.
  • Assist with contract administration activities, including purchase orders, subcontract agreements, and change management processes.
  • Participate in meetings with clients, inspectors, engineers, and project teams while helping track action items and project objectives.
  • Help ensure compliance with applicable safety standards, project specifications, and company procedures.
  • Monitor project performance and identify potential schedule or budget concerns before they become significant issues.
  • Support material and equipment procurement efforts while assisting with project closeout documentation and turnover requirements.
To Be Successful in This Role, You'll Bring
  • 3+ years of experience in project engineering, project coordination, assistant project management, or a related construction role.
  • Experience supporting civil construction projects such as underground utilities, public works, grading, roadway, concrete, or site development work.
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings, plans, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Understanding of cost control practices, scheduling principles, and construction project workflows.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience with municipal or DOT-related projects preferred.
  • Familiarity with public works contracting, prevailing wage requirements, or OSHA 30 certification is a plus.
