The Opportunity

Pinnacle Recruitment Services is partnering with an established construction firm in the Bakersfield area to identify a detail-oriented Project Engineer (PE) to support its project management team.

The Project Engineer will work closely with one or more Project Managers to coordinate project documentation, maintain schedules and records, support change management, and help keep projects organized from startup through closeout.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build their career in construction project management while gaining hands-on experience across multiple phases of commercial construction.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Project Managers with overall project coordination and administration.
  • Set up new projects in Procore and assist with cost worksheets, submittal logs, and procurement schedules.
  • Support preparation and distribution of contracts, construction documents, and project correspondence.
  • Track procurement and long-lead items to help maintain project schedules.
  • Prepare and maintain RFIs, RFPs, change requests, change orders, and related documentation for PM review.
  • Maintain meeting minutes, transmittals, project files, and document control.
  • Coordinate shop drawings and plan revisions with subcontractors.
  • Assist with construction schedule updates and progress billing preparation.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers and Superintendents to research and draft RFIs.
  • Verify field as-builts are current and maintain updated office records.
  • Support project closeout, including punch lists, as-builts, O&M manuals, and warranty documentation.


What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience in construction project engineering, project coordination, or construction administration preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage documentation and priorities across multiple projects or Project Managers.
  • Understanding of construction drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and change management processes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Excel.
  • Experience with Procore and Microsoft Project preferred.
  • Collaborative, dependable, and comfortable working with project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders.
