Job description

PAY/EXPECTATIONS: Work 20 hours a week, $30 to $40 an hour based upon experience and credentials.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Provide counseling and guidance to assist clients in their personal recovery process.
Complete an initial assessment, to include a client and family assessment, DSM-V diagnosis and appropriate clinical information for appropriate treatment planning.
Deliver age-appropriate interventions that consider family systems, effect of abuse and neglect, and ability to establish therapeutic relationships.
Monitor and document the progress of the clients and the effectiveness of the treatment plan.
Complete progress notes and other documentation within 24 hours of occurrence or contact.

Interview individuals and others to determine level of functioning, treatment needs, make recommendations for care and determine suitability for participation in program;

Complete and maintain accurate electronic clinical documentation and reports regarding individuals’ histories, progress, interventions provided;

Provide counseling to individuals in care and family members on an individual and/or group format to assist in recovery from substance use disorders;

Create treatment and relapse prevention plans based on clinical experience, individual/family interviews, treatment needs, and evidence based practices;

Review and evaluate progress towards recovery goals identified and determine readiness for step down, discharge and aftercare;

Conduct and/or participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings;

May provide crisis intervention services as needed.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

· Some experience of providing mental health interventions directly to children, youth and families.

· Strong substance abuse boundaries and compassionate about families improving with the right interventions-Empowerment

· Team Player

· Positive attitude at all times.

· Excellent customer-service skills

· 24/7 availability

· Create and/or maintain collaborative relationship with other child-serving agencies with the service community.

· Complete all professional documentation thoroughly and in a time sensitive manner.

· Knowledge of Substance Abuse Principles

· Strong oral and written communication skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Professional Certification in Alcohol and Drug Counseling (CACII, CADCII, CCADC, CAS, and CACI with Addiction Counselor Trainee with supervision)

Masters in Counseling or Social Services Field

Minimum 2-3 years experience post certification

Certifications/Other:

· CPR/First Aid Certification Preferred

· Applicants must be willing to undergo a background check and drug screen, in accordance with local law/regulations

Certifications in evidence-based practice models preferred

Pay Rate determined by education and experience.
