Job description

US Heart and Vascular is in need of a Medical Assistant to join our team at Pima Heart and Vascular in Tucson, AZ to assist Provider(s) in daily operations of his/her clinic and patient care.ย 

Responsibilities:

  • Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients
  • Interviews patients, measures vital signs such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height and records information in patientsโ€™ charts.
  • Drapes patients with covering and positions instruments and equipment
  • Cleans and sterilizes instruments
  • Inventories and orders medical supplies and materials
  • Operates electrocardiograph (EKG), treadmill, and other equipment to administer routine diagnostic test or calls medical facility or department to schedule patients for tests
  • Gives injections or treatments and performs routine laboratory tests
  • Screens telephone calls for physicians
  • Preps patients for Treadmill Stress Tests
  • Performs Treadmill Stress Tests as required
  • Returns patient phone calls
  • Calls in patient prescriptions
  • Answers triage calls
  • Travel required
  • Other related duties may be assigned

Requirements:

  • Completion of a Medical Assistant program is required
  • Knowledge in medical terminology
  • Experience in a cardiology practice is preferred but not required
