Job description

The UNM School of Law anticipates hiring a qualified Visiting Assistant Professor to teach criminal law courses during the Fall 2026 semester. The Visiting Assistant Professor will be responsible for teaching a section of Criminal Law I (approximately 30-35 students), a required first-year course, and Criminal Procedure I (approximately 20 students), a core upper-level elective. 

Offering a Juris Doctor degree, cross-disciplinary dual degrees, and a Master of Legal Studies, the University of New Mexico School of Law is nationally recognized for innovative classes that combine training in law practice with doctrinal instruction and a 10:1 student-to-faculty ratio.
