Job description

The Department of Surgery at the University of South Florida, Morsani College of Medicine is seeking to hire Basic Science-Open Rank Faculty to join the Department of Surgery / Research Division.   
Tenured/Tenure-track faculty position (Assistant/Associate/Full Professor)
The Department of Surgery in the Morsani College of Medicine of the University of South Florida (USF) invites
applications for tenured/tenure-track faculty positions in the Division of Surgical Research. We seek applicants
with an excellent record of achievement to join our interdisciplinary and interactive faculty. Expertise is required
in studying fundamental and translational aspects in the pathophysiology of diseases relevant to the broad field
of surgical research.         
Applicants should have a MD, PhD or equivalent degree and a strong publication track record, commensurate
with experience and rank. Candidates for appointments at all levels must have current extramural funding,
evidence of active contribution to graduate training and/or medical education. Physician scientists are
encouraged to apply.

Responsible to a Chair or other appropriate higher-level administrator of a State university.
Responsible for teaching, research, service, and related administrative activities.
Responsible for academic advising and related activities.
May represent the university, college/school, or department.
