Description:

The Assistant Plant Manager is responsible for managing all safety, operational, financial, environmental and personnel duties for the plant in accordance with company programs, policies, and guidelines as well as government agencies.

Location:

St Cloud Quarry is a 2M+ tons per year, seasonal granite operation located in Central MN. Forty-team members perform at a high level to produce up to 2,000 tph of high-quality aggregates. Truck and rail loadout can reach 20,000 tons per day.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the plant manager with daily and strategic management of plant functions and provide leadership in areas to include financial, safety, environmental, and personnel.
  • Responsible for driving location expectations and metrics to include: company assets, budgeting, cost control/savings measures, environmental and personnel functions.
  • Champion the Martin Marietta safety culture. Ensure compliance with all local, federal, state and Martin Marietta policies.
  • Provide direction to meet plant safety, quality, production and employee development expectations.
  • Comply with, maintain and update all local State, Federal and Company environmental regulatory programs, policies and guidelines.
  • All other duties as assigned.

  • A high school diploma/GED or equivalent work/military experience required
  • 4+ years of related experience

Work Environment

This job operates frequently in a maintenance and operations environment at a surface mine location. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Physical requirements include the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds from ground to waist, visual acuity, speech and hearing, hand and eye coordination, manual dexterity, repetitive motion, standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs, bending and stooping, working from a elevated position and the ability to drive.

This is a safety-sensitive role and Martin Marietta will continue to require drug testing that does include testing for cannabis/THC.
