Position Overview:

We are looking for Machine Operators for multiple different shifts to join our Operations team!! The Machine Operator sets up and runs assigned CNC machines to produce parts that meet company safety, quality, and production standards, as well as customer specifications and delivery schedules. This role works under the direction of the Operations Supervisor and in accordance with company policies and procedures.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Machine Operation and Setup

  • Set up and operate assigned CNC machines to produce parts that meet company quality and production standards
  • Make adjustments, offsets, and tool changes as needed throughout the shift
  • Perform basic daily preventive maintenance, machine care, and cleaning per CIL (Clean, Inspect, Lubricate) standards

Quality and Inspection

  • Perform first-piece and in-process visual and dimensional checks to confirm parts conform to customer specifications, appearance, and finish requirements per Control Plans and Work Instructions
  • Evaluate production processes and product performance for conformance to the Control Plan and Process Standards
  • Visually inspect gages per procedure to verify compliance with specifications

Communication and Teamwork

  • Communicate with the previous and following shift to share updates and flag issues
  • Work as part of a team to produce the highest quality product at the lowest possible cost
  • Notify shift supervision and technical support of problems and recommend ways to improve productivity and quality while reducing cost
  • Assist other operators as needed and support the training and development of employees in the assigned area

Documentation and Compliance

  • Complete and maintain all required production paperwork and records
  • Follow all safety and work rules; maintain departmental housekeeping standards
  • Maintain a valid forklift license and assist with material handling as needed

Qualifications:

  • Requires a high school diploma, equivalent, or relevant experience
  • Basic math experience
  • Ability to perform the operation sequence of processes using standard instructions
  • Ability to obtain a forklift license by KSLP standards
  • Background in Manufacturing is ideal
  • Ability to use small hand tools, hand gauges, and read blueprints
  • Experience with robotics preferred but not required
  • Familiarity with metric system is ideal but not required
