What are Assistant Motorcycle Mechanics?

Assistant Motorcycle Mechanics are entry-level technicians who help maintain, repair, and service motorcycles under the guidance of experienced mechanics. Their duties often include basic tasks such as changing oil, cleaning parts, checking tire pressure, and assisting with more complex repairs. Job Title: Motorcycle Mechanic and Project Manager
Location: Louisville, KY
Reports To: CEO/Assistant to CEO
Do you like working with motorcycles and exotic cars? Here’s an exciting opportunity for you.
We’re a successful and fast-growing company based in Louisville, Kentucky. Our core business is growing rapidly, undergoing a North American expansion. Since our founding, we’ve grown from zero to 1000 team members. We’ve averaged 30% growth each year over the past 12 years, winning Inc. Magazine’s INC 5000 award recognizing America’s fastest growing private companies seven times.
This position is part of an exciting new business unit related to accessorizing and customizing new motorcycles. This position will NOT require the technician to do internal engine work.
Job Overview:
The technician is responsible for the care, maintenance, of motorcycles and aiding in the launch of a new business unit. This position involves working independently to ensure each motorcycle is in excellent mechanical condition, ready for display or riding. The technician will be responsible for removing OEM parts and accessories, and updating them with custom parts, with a focus on high standards of workmanship and attention to detail. The position will also require you to establish and maintain relationships with vendors to source parts and accessories, and schedule work to be performed on various vehicles. You’ll also have the opportunity for managing a small and growing collection of exotic cars and show cars.
This won’t be a monotonous role that has you doing the same work every day. You’ll do unique builds with a design esthetic that’s not commonly seen widely in the marketplace. Most of the projects will be “one offs”. The potential exists for additional future compensation to be tied to units sold as the project progresses. This is truly a “ground floor” opportunity for this new division of our stable, 24 year-old company.
Note: the workspace near the NuLu area of downtown and is currently undergoing renovations. Within several weeks it will be transformed into a BEAUTIFUL workspace suitable for parties and photoshoots.

  • Experience using power tools, with the ability to complete basic fabrication
  • Preferred, not required: Basic construction skills helpful, including Plumbing, Drywall, Painting
  • Forklift experience is a plus
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs, stay on feet for long periods of time, climb ladders etc.
  • Other work as directed

  • You must have the ability to work solo and unsupervised
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification preferred
  • Proven experience as a motorcycle mechanic or technician
  • Strong understanding of motorcycle systems and components
  • Good communication and customer service skills
This is a unique opportunity to work with an established, yet fast-growing company with a track record of success, launching a new business unit with tremendous growth potential.
Compensation: The hourly rate is commensurate with experience
