Job description

FIBERGLASS LAMINATORS
Sailfish is searching for Fiberglass Laminators
  • Ability to wear tight fitting respirator amp; must be clean shaven every work day
  • Follow defined instructions and procedures in performance of tasks
  • Performs preparatory work for lamination
  • Places layers of mat and cloth in mold and smoothes out wrinkles and air voids by hand
  • Works saturated mat and cloth into shape of mold with hands, roller and squeegee to remove air bubbles and smooth surfaces
  • Selects precut fiberglass mat/cloth according to model and options
  • Laminates layers of fiberglass on molds to form boat decks and hulls, or fiberglass small parts
  • Mixes catalyst into resin and works saturated mat into shape of mold
  • Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations and Seminole Marine’s quality standards
  • maintain safe, clean work area
  • All work to be performed and manufactured to Company quality standards
  • May assist in removing hulls from mold
  • Perform other related duties as necessary and assigned
  • Potentially run fiberglass chopper gun
  • May install stringers and flooring in hull
  • Must have keen attention to detail
  • Ability to follow a work schedule and work order
  • Understand the function of different chemicals and composite materials
  • Must be dependable, and have reliable transportation
  • Must be able to physically handle the requirements of the job, including but not limited to: lifting, bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, twisting, turning, climbing stairs, reaching, grasping, gripping, pushing, pulling, and spending entire working hours on your feet, etc
Must be able to understand all safety related document and work-site rules and practices, equipment operating instructions, documented safety management systems, and health and safety requirements, including the General Safety Rules and Individual Safety Commitment
SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
  • Must possess the desire and ambition to work safely at all times and report all hazards to Management and Human Resources immediately
  • Must understand basic terminology such as OSHA, DEP, and other regulatory agencies
  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment where designated, including but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, respirator etc.
  • Must be able to physically handle the requirements of the job, including but not limited to: lifting, bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, twisting, turning, climbing stairs, reaching, grasping, gripping, pushing, pulling, and spending entire working hours on your feet, etc.
  • Must be able to understand all safety related documents and work-site rules and practices, equipment operating instructions, documented safety management systems, and health and safety requirements, including the General Safety Rules and Individual Safety Commitment
