Job Summary
The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a federal work study student in the College of Arts & Letters department on the Gainesville campus. The University of North Georgia is seeking a diligent, creative, and dynamic student to serve as the primary editor for the student-led magazine, Interconnected. This federal work study position offers an outstanding opportunity to contribute significantly to a publication that celebrates belonging, and the power of storytelling from various perspectives. Students from multiple campuses are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
  • Lead the editorial team in planning, designing, and producing the magazine.
  • Coordinate content and student submissions, and multimedia elements for the publication.
  • Ensure editorial standards are met, including quality, accuracy, and adherence to deadlines.
  • Manage the magazine's production schedule, from concept to distribution.
  • Attend some events and tabling opportunities on the Dahlonega and Gainesville campuses to promote the magazine

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Collaborate with contributors to develop content that reflects the UNG students.
  • Gain InDesign skills, or recruit student designers, editors, and writers to assist the project through UNG Connect.

Required Qualifications
  • Must be enrolled at the University of North Georgia in a minimum of six (6) credit hours to qualify as a student worker.
