The Georgia Public Health Association (GPHA) invites applications and nominations for the position of Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of the Georgia Public Health Association (JGPHA). This leadership role offers a unique opportunity to shape the intellectual direction of a peer-reviewed, open-access journal dedicated to advancing public health research, policy, and practice in Georgia and beyond.

About the Journal

The Journal of the Georgia Public Health Association (JGPHA) serves as a scholarly and practice-oriented platform for disseminating high-quality public health research, evaluation, policy analysis, and practice innovations. The journal reflects GPHA’s mission to improve population health and advance health equity through evidence-informed action.

JGPHA prioritizes manuscripts that:

Editorial Vision

Role and Responsibilities

  • Supporting early‑career scholars, practitioners, and community partners in scholarly dissemination
Qualifications

Qualified candidates will demonstrate:

  • A terminal degree in public health or a related field (or equivalent professional experience)
  • A strong record of public health scholarship and/or practice
  • Experience with peer review, scholarly publishing, or editorial leadership

Term

The Editor-in-Chief is appointed for a renewable three‑year term and is supported by an editorial team (included Associate Editors and Board) and GPHA infrastructure.
