Looking to make a meaningful impact in your community? As a Casual Bus Driver in Cranbrook, youโ€™ll provide safe, reliable, transportation to cover sick days, leave of absences and holidays. You will be trained on different routes/services, like HandyDART, flex and health connections.

This role is more than just driving โ€” it's about supporting independence, offering compassion, and ensuring every passenger feels valued. If youโ€™re dependable, service-minded, and enjoy helping others, weโ€™d love to hear from you.

What Youโ€™ll Do:

  • Safely transport passengers and provide door-to-door assistance
  • Assist passengers with boarding, exiting, and securing mobility aids
  • Conduct daily vehicle inspections and maintain vehicle cleanliness
  • Operate a two-way radio and manage fares accurately
  • Maintain a safe and harassment-free environment for everyone
  • Report any incidents, vehicle defects, or passenger safety concerns
  • Fuel, wash, and check fluid levels of the vehicle
  • Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle as required by Provincial legislation and record any minor vehicle defects onto the vehicle daily

  • Valid Driver's License - minimum of Class 2
  • Ability to pass the required enhanced criminal record check, and drug & alcohol test
  • Provide a clean driver's abstract
  • Ability to work independently and interact politely with the public and staff
