Reports To: Shift Leader / Assistant Manager / General Manager

Position Summary:

The Grill Staff / Cook is responsible for executing kitchen operations to ensure high-quality food preparation and guest satisfaction. This includes cooking, assembling, and preparing food items according to Dairy Queen standards while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment. The ideal candidate is fast, efficient, detail-oriented, and maintains a positive, team-focused attitude.

Key Responsibilities:Food Preparation & Cooking:
  • Prepare and cook food items quickly and accurately following all health, safety, and restaurant standards.
  • Operate and maintain cooking equipment, including grill, fryer, freezer, and related appliances, in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Assemble, wrap, and stock food items as needed, ensuring proper portioning and quality.
  • Kitchen Operations:
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the grill and kitchen areas.
  • Perform routine cleaning duties, including breakdown and sanitation of the grill station, sweeping, mopping, and trash removal.
  • Ensure proper food storage and rotation to maintain freshness and compliance with food safety guidelines.
  • Complete assigned prep work and ensure all stations are fully stocked for peak operational times.
  • Teamwork & Communication:
  • Communicate clearly and respectfully with team members to ensure correct orders and smooth operations.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team to uphold standards of quality, service, cleanliness, and value.
  • Customer Experience:
  • Remain alert, friendly, and responsive to customer needs when working in view of guests.
  • Support the frontofhouse team as needed to ensure fast and accurate order fulfillment.
  • Other Duties:
  • Promptly report any equipment issues, food safety concerns, or unusual occurrences to management.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by management or shift leaders.

  • Physical & Environmental Requirements:
  • Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, and standing throughout the shift.
