REPORTS TO: Location manager
DEPARTMENT: Transportation Department
EEO Classification: Operative (Semi-skilled)
Primary Purpose: Safely transport grain, fertilizers and other materials and equipment.
General Description: Drive semi-truck and trailer.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  1. Ensure safety compliance, through plant inspections, near miss and unsafe condition reporting and direct communication with supervisor in regards to safety.
  2. Follow all State and Federal DOT Rules and Regulations .
  3. Read, understand and follow all Ray-Carroll County Grain Growers, Inc. Policies and Procedures.
  4. Comply with all Company, State and Federal Rules, Regulations and Policies.
  5. Operate all equipment & vehicles according to Ray-Carroll Coop Policies and Procedures along with local, state and federal laws.
  6. Communicate with truck dispatcher, shop personnel, location manager and transportation manager.
  7. Haul grain, Dry & Liquid Fertilizer, chemicals and other company materials and equipment.
  8. Efficient operation of semi-tractor and trailer.
  9. Operate Semi-Truck/trailer in a safe and professional manner.
  10. Working knowledge of vehicle equipment.
  11. Participate in Ray-Carroll County Grain Growers, Inc. DOT drug and alcohol program.
  12. Maintain clean truck and trailer inside and out.
  13. Monitor vehicles for regular maintenance/service needs.
  14. Assist with vehicle repair and maintenance when needed on the road and/or in the shop/location.
  15. Perform routine maintenance to vehicle, including but not limited to, daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections, lights, fluids, etc....
  16. Complete Daily Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR) and log sheets properly.

OTHER DUTIES:
  1. Able to build morale and group commitments to achieve goals and objectives.
  2. Exhibit sound and accurate judgment.
  3. Project a positive attitude to customers and employees at all times.
  4. Provide courteous customer service.
  5. Report even minor injuries using the employee injury report form.
  6. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications: Class A CDL, HAZMAT, tanker, endorsements or ability to obtain, Reliable vehicle to drive to and from work, valid state motor vehicle license. 20/20 vision in both eyes, with corrective lenses (if applicable)
