Bowman and Brooke LLP is a national product liability boutique law firm with more than 200 lawyers in 17 offices known for defending household name manufacturers of motor vehicles, medical devices, pharmaceuticals and consumer products in high exposure, technically intricate lawsuits and mass torts throughout all 50 states. We are actively searching for a fully remote Legal Administrative Assistant (Legal Secretary) to join our team in our New York, New York / New Brunswick, New Jersey offices. Our legal administrative assistants play a vital role on our case teams and are respected for their ideas and contributions.  The ideal candidate will possess excellent attention to detail and the ability to multi-task. Your confidence and communication skills will help you develop strong professional relationships with our team.

Skills:

·        Prepare legal documents and correspondence

·        File documents in state and federal courts

·        Prepare binders for attorneys and judges

·        Create and save documents and emails to iManage (document management system) in accordance with firm policy

·        Experience with obtaining documents from online court directories

·        Schedule meetings and other calendar commitments

·        Calendaring legal due dates in CompuLaw

·        Make travel arrangements and process expense reports

·        Process client disbursements and AP invoices

·        Organize and maintain case files

·        Supporting overall Bowman and Brooke administrative needs by assisting team members where needed

Qualifications:

·        Exceptional organizational and communication skills

·        Exceptional computer skills 

·        Ability to work overtime when the need arises

·        Heavy computer use

Education and Experience:

·        Minimum of 5+ years of legal experience required

·        Civil Litigation experience required

·        Knowledge of New York and New Jersey rules and procedures preferred

·        Demonstrated employment stability
