ROLE:

The Laundry Attendant maintains a constant supply of clean textiles for the resort. Performs all stages of linen processing including collecting transporting sorting, loading, and unloading washers and dryers. Cleans and organize laundry machinery and laundry area.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Sorting, washing, drying, pressing, and folding textile items.
  • Sort all textile items according to type, color, size, etc.
  • Inspect items for stains, damages, or wear and report issues to Management.
  • Spot treat any stained textile items as needed by removing stains from items using the appropriate procedures.
  • Load and unload washes according to standards.
  • Operate and maintain laundry equipment, including washing machines and dryers.
  • Clean dryer filter after every load and maintain all equipment as trained.
  • Neatly fold textile items and stock carts, shelves, and storage rooms as required.
  • Follow proper handling and storage of clean and soiled textile items, storing all items off the floor.
  • Keep laundry carts clean and free of debris.
  • Ensure that the facility remains clean and organized at all times.
  • Sweep and mop laundry floors keeping laundry room and storage areas safe, clean and dry at all times. Ensure that the facility remains clean, organized, and free of safety hazards.
  • Keeping an updated inventory of laundry supplies. Assist with inventory management and ordering of laundry supplies.
  • Tracking maintenance and repairs on laundering equipment.
  • Collaborate with housekeeping and other resort staff to ensure timely delivery of clean textiles items.
  • Recognize and take action on any safety or loss prevention incidences that may cause damage, injury, or other liability to individuals or company property. Follow all company policies and procedures for safety and security.
  • Adhere to health and safety protocols, including proper use of cleaning chemicals and PPE.
  • Handles contaminated articles per company, and OSHA standards.
  • Perform routine maintenance on laundry equipment and report any malfunctions.



Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is advantageous.
  • Prior experience in a similar role is preferable.
  • Familiarity with cleaning detergents and laundering equipment.
  • Demonstrate good communication skills and convey information and ideas
  • Basic arithmetic skills.
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to endure working in areas of warm temperatures with accumulations of lint.
  • Must be able to exert physical effort, endure various physical movements throughout the work areas, reach up and down, remain stationary at times throughout work periods.
  • Ability to stand for long periods.
  • Ability to lift wet linen weighing up to 20 pounds and shake it out.
  • Must be able to lift, stretch and pull textile items from washers, and feed them into dryers
  • Capacity to exert over 75 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
  • Ability to maneuver (push, pull, turn) a linen cart/bin weighing up to 350 pounds.
