As a Speech Language Pathologist in the dynamic and sunny community of St. Petersburg, Florida, your contributions will transcend mere clinical intervention. You'll be at the forefront of unlocking the power of communication, rekindling confidence, and ensuring meaningful connections - supporting everyone from young children forming their first sentences to seniors on their journey to independence.
This role presents a one-of-a-kind opportunity to assist a diverse group of individuals across all age brackets within a setting that artfully combines outpatient therapy with occasional inpatient engagements. Whether you're devoted to facilitating language skills in kids, addressing neurogenic communication challenges in adults, or guiding older adults towards cognitive-linguistic rehabilitation, you will find both purpose and variation within your practice here.

  • Create customized treatment plans to meet immediate goals while addressing long-term cognitive, communication, or swallowing needs.
  • Deliver individualized speech therapy sessions focused on language, fluency, voice, and swallowing interventions.
  • Engage with a multidisciplinary team including physical therapists, occupational therapists, physicians, caregivers, and families to develop effective care strategies.
  • Provide education to patients and families to encourage progress outside of therapy sessions.
  • Participate in occasional inpatient speech therapy assessments and interventions, ensuring seamless continuity of care.
  • Keep up-to-date documentation as required by state, federal, and organization policies.
  • Remain informed of the latest trends and techniques in the profession through continuing education and collaboration with peers.
Education
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY), if not already ASHA-certified.
Certifications
  • Valid state license as a Speech Language Pathologist.
  • ASHA's Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) is preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
Skills
  • Strong grasp of evidence-based treatment methodologies for diverse age groups, with insightful knowledge of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills when communicating with patients, family members, and across interdisciplinary teams.
  • Adept at modifying therapeutic techniques to accommodate a variety of cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
  • Solid clinical reasoning and critical-thinking abilities.
  • Comfortable navigating electronic medical records and documentation protocols.
Benefits
  • Competitive salary reflecting experience and expertise.
  • Flexible work scheduling to promote balance and accommodate diverse caseloads.
  • Chances to grow in pediatric, adult neurorehabilitation, or geriatric specializations.
  • Paid time off (PTO) and designated holiday compensation.
  • Options for medical, dental, vision, and life insurance coverage.
  • Support for continuing education and professional growth.
  • A collaborative environment emphasizing top-quality care and continuous learning.

Why You'll Thrill to Live and Work Here
The lifestyle in St. Petersburg beautifully marries sunshine and creativity with the warmth of community. With stunning waterfronts, vibrant arts districts, and vast outdoor spaces, this area offers a rare balance of tranquility and excitement.
