Reports To: Director of Information Technology
Location: Colfax, NC
Travel: Up to 25% travel to in-state locations in Conover & Flat Rock/quarterly to other locations as needed)
Position Summary:
Marmon Fastener Company is seeking a hands-on, business-focused IT Systems Administrator to support and continuously improve our enterprise infrastructure across manufacturing, warehouse, and corporate environments. This role is responsible for the administration, security, availability, and performance of servers, networks, cloud platforms, end-user systems, and business-critical applications.
Key Responsibilities:
Infrastructure & Systems Administration
  • Administer and maintain Windows server infrastructure, virtualization platforms, storage, and backup systems

  • Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, file services, print services, and identity management

  • Support Microsoft 365 environment including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, Intune, and Entra ID

  • Monitor system health, capacity, performance, and uptime across all environments

  • Perform server patching, upgrades, lifecycle management, and system hardening

Network Administration
  • Support LAN/WAN connectivity across manufacturing and office locations

  • Configure and maintain firewalls, switches, wireless infrastructure, VPN, and remote access solutions

  • Troubleshoot network performance issues impacting production or business operations

  • Maintain network documentation, diagrams, and standards

Cybersecurity & Compliance
  • Implement security best practices, vulnerability remediation, endpoint protection, and MFA policies

  • Monitor logs, alerts, and security events

  • Support cybersecurity audits, incident response, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning

  • Ensure systems comply with corporate security standards and industry best practices

Manufacturing Systems Support
  • Support ERP, MES, barcode scanning, label printing, shop floor PCs, handheld devices, and industrial workstations

  • Partner with operations teams to minimize downtime related to technology issues

  • Support integrations between business applications, production equipment, and reporting platforms

End User Support
  • This is a hands-on roll. Provide Tier 1 / 2 support while looking at solutions to prevent break fix incidents

  • Provide Tier 2/3 escalation support for desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and peripherals

  • Standardize endpoint deployment and software management

  • Create technical documentation, SOPs, and knowledge base articles
  • Availability for weekly on-call rotations

Project & Continuous Improvement
  • Lead infrastructure projects including upgrades, migrations, cloud initiatives, and automation efforts

  • Identify opportunities to reduce manual processes and improve operational efficiency

  • Work with vendors, corporate IT resources, and business stakeholders to deliver technology solutions

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent experience

  • 5+ years of systems administration experience in a mid-sized business or manufacturing environment

  • Strong experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, VMware/Hyper-V, backup systems, networking, and PowerShell

  • Experience supporting ERP or manufacturing applications

  • Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills

  • Experience in manufacturing or distribution environments

  • Experience with Cisco Meraki, Unifi, Azure, Intune, SQL Server, and OT environments

  • Industry certifications such as Microsoft, Security+, CCNA, or VCP

  • Backup software experience with Veeam, Kaseya using 3-2-1 methodology
