Job description


Staples is focused on our customer and our community. As an Inventory Analyst for Staples, you will be responsible for managing foundational in-stock, prep stores for ads & promotions, prepare for product transition, and work on supply chain & vendor issues.
Manage Foundational In-Stock, Ads & Promotions:
  • Utilize forecasting/planning/allocation tools to order product and ensure smooth flow to stores, warehouses and fulfillment centers.
  • Communicate vendor and product issues, accurately and timely, with the Merchandising team, Supply Chain, and other impacted groups
  • Maintain high levels of in-stock on weekly ads and seasonal promotions
  • Execute timely placement of orders. Track and expedite to meet set-up timelines and service level goals
  • Use allocation tool to properly identify appropriate historical information and quantities by location to ensure appropriate sell through and turn

Product transition & Vendor Relations:
  • Work with the Merchandising team to successfully plan and execute a variety of product transitions including Planogram, New Catalog mailings, Seasonal buys, etc.
  • Minimize obsolescence and maximize turn through timely forecast updates
  • Partner with Merchandising and Supply Chain to assist in minimizing key supplier lead times to warehouses and fulfillment centers with improved reliability
  • Develop and maintain positive and effective relations with vendors to facilitate timely and accurate processing of orders and delivered product

Essential skills and experience:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • At least 1+ year of related work experience in a retail setting

Preferred skills and experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (especially Excel & Access) & demonstrated capability managing/utilizing replenishment systems
  • Work towards completion of E3 Certification within 6 months of hire

The salary range represents the expected compensation for this role at the time of posting. The specific base pay may be influenced by a variety of factors to include the candidate's experience, skill set, education, geography, business considerations, and internal equity.
