Job description

Summary/Objective

The Inventory & Business Analyst will be responsible for overseeing the inventory levels and movement of inventory through our hub and spoke network.  The Inventory Planner & Business will ensure that proper forecast levels are set and a high fill rate is maintained at all locations.  They will process the daily transfers and work closely with the purchasing and inventory control teams to manage ramp up and ramp down of items. They will perform other reporting duties related to the Supply Chain team including tracking and reporting of the Supplier Rebate Programs.

Essential Functions

  • Oversee the tracking and reporting of Supplier Rebate Programs. Provide updates to management and finance on progress against goals.  Update team on required actions required to meet objectives.
  • Manage the daily transfer queue to ensure that transfers are processed properly to maintain need inventory levels.
  • Utilizes and monitors reports and daily analytics for all business metrics; taking appropriate and timely action to prevent stock outs, minimize MOH, and expedite delivery to fill potential backorders.
  • Report out to management on inventory trends and forecasts.
  • Monitor daily the lost sale reports and implement any necessary corrective actions to prevent future lost sales.
  • Maintain system settings for stocked products.  This includes updating discontinued products, correcting commodity codes, revising forecast, and setting order points.
  • Serve as primary point of contact from sales for stock item requests.  Pull any necessary data and present recommendations to purchasing team or manager.
  • Meet with branch personnel to review current inventory performance and drive any necessary adjustments to meet goals.
  • Regularly review cross dock shipments and adjust order points to locate inventory in proper locations to reduce cross docks.
  • Analyze stock to help determine potential marketing specials and make adjustments as necessary.  Monitor results to determine success or required adjustments to future specials.
  • Track all new product introductions to help determine product success.
  • Supports and executes aged, obsolete and excess inventory reduction strategies – RTV, “fire sale”, contests, transfers, scrap, liquidation, donation, etc
  • Assist in the BOM integration with any future acquisitions.
  • Act as business data tools Superuser to support Supply Chain team.  These include Phocas and PowerBI tools.
  • Drive Continuous improvements in our planning, reporting, and analysis through our existing system tools as well as recommendations of new applications that have a favorable ROI.
  • Manage purchasing for select strategic and specialty product categories, including supplier evaluation, contract negotiation to ensure timely product availability.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a non-exempt, full time position. Expected working hours are 8:00AM-5:00PM.  Preferred location is at Chicopee, Taunton, or Methuen Distribution Centers but will be flexible based on candidate.

This is primarily an office based role.   

 

Travel
Frequent regional travel is expected between Distribution Centers and branches in New England.

 

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (business discipline preferred).
  • 2 - 5 years’ experience in inventory management
  • Product Management experience with Square D products a plus
  • Equivalent education or experience may be substituted for any of the above.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States. This position is not eligible for employment visa sponsorship.
  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must possess a high degree of organizational skills and be self-starter.
