The position develops and maintains reporting solutions in Salesforce and Power BI, supports approved Salesforce configuration and data processes, and assists with Microsoft Fabric and related data integration activities. The role works closely with business stakeholders, the Senior Systems Administrator, and the Senior Director of Data Operations to improve reporting reliability, strengthen system usability, and support consistent data practices across departments. This position works within established technical, security, and data governance standards and does not serve as the organization's primary system architect, data engineer, or IT support function.

PRIMARY TASK

Ensure organizational data and reporting systems are accurate, usable, and trusted by developing and maintaining reporting solutions, supporting business system configuration, and assisting with data quality and enterprise data platform activities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Business Intelligence & Reporting

  • Design, develop, and maintain operational reports, visualizations, and dashboards in Salesforce and Power BI.
  • Maintain existing Salesforce reports and dashboards and support the planned transition of appropriate reporting solutions to Power BI over time.
  • Connect approved data sources to Power BI and create data transformations, relationships, calculations, and visualizations appropriate to the reporting need.
  • Validate report outputs and investigate discrepancies between reported and source data.
  • Implement approved metric definitions and document report logic, calculations, filters, assumptions, and data sources.
  • Support recurring analysis, including year-over-year comparisons, revenue analysis, campaign performance, and forecasting using approved methodologies.
  • Present reporting findings and explain data results to technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
  • Identify trends and use data to evaluate and improve strategies.

Salesforce & Business Systems Support

  • Support day-to-day Salesforce administration, including duplicate record management, campaign maintenance, page layouts, picklists, approval processes, and other approved configuration changes.
  • Configure and test routine Salesforce changes in Sandbox environments and support user acceptance testing and production release processes under established change-management standards.
  • Build and maintain Salesforce reports, dashboards, campaigns, lists, and related data processes.
  • Support Pardot or similar email marketing processes, including audience segmentation, list development, and suppression-list management, including direct mail lists for appeal and stewardship mailings such as holiday cards.
  • Support Wealth Engine or similar prospect research tools, donor screening activities, prospect pipelines, and approved record assignments.
  • Translate approved business requirements into system changes, reporting solutions, or documented process improvements.
  • Evaluate and support approved Salesforce applications, integrations, automation, relevant software, and system enhancements in coordination with the Senior Systems Administrator, system owners, and vendors.

Enterprise Data Platform Support

  • Assist with the ongoing development and operation of the organization's Microsoft Fabric enterprise data platform under established technical and data governance standards.
  • Support data extraction, transformation, loading, validation, and reconciliation activities for approved data sources and reporting use cases.
  • Use basic SQL and available query tools to retrieve, validate, reconcile, and troubleshoot data.
  • Support testing and monitoring of data pipelines, refreshes, lakehouse or warehouse data, semantic models, and reporting outputs.
  • Document data flows, source-to-target mappings, refresh schedules, dependencies, and recurring data processes.
  • Participate in testing and validation activities related to system integrations, migrations, and data exchanges.
  • Use or learn version-control practices, including Git and GitHub, as the organization adopts these tools for analytics and data platform development.

Process Improvement & Documentation

  • Conduct structured requirements gathering with internal stakeholders and document business, reporting, and system needs.
  • Map workflows and identify opportunities to improve alignment between operational processes, system behavior, and reporting outputs.
  • Organize assigned work through sprint boards or other project-management tools and communicate progress, dependencies, risks, and follow-up actions.
  • Assist with rollout, adoption, and post-implementation support for approved process, system, and reporting changes.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, system documentation, user guidance, and training materials.
  • Help users understand system workflows, reporting practices, data definitions, and consistent data-entry expectations.

Data Quality & Governance Support

  • Monitor data integrity and identify recurring patterns of inconsistency, duplication, incomplete data, or other data quality risks.
  • Perform data validation and reconciliation during integrations, migrations, report development, and data platform activities.
  • Help trace data from source systems through transformations and reporting outputs.
  • Support consistent field usage, metric implementation, documentation, and data handling practices.
  • Collaborate with business data owners, technical teams, and data governance leadership to identify root causes and support corrective actions.
