Job Summary
The HCA/Caregiver is a member of the home care team who works under the supervision of the Care Coordinator and performs various personal care services as necessary to meet the client’s needs. Qualicare Homecare BC has immediate openings for compassionate, dedicated Caregivers to support clients locally in the Langley area!
We are experiencing a growing need across Langley and Aldergrove for caregivers experienced in standard dementia support. Qualicare Homecare is looking for compassionate, caring, and reliable individuals to join our family as Health Care Aides (HCAs) / Personal Support Workers (PSWs) / Caregivers. Responsibilities 
  • Provide gentle assistance with personal care, hygiene, and mobility
  • Implement redirection, calming techniques, and routine management for clients with dementia
  • Meal Preparation and assistance with light housekeeping
  • Accompany clients on outings, shopping, and errands
  • Medication Assist / Reminders
  • Ambulation and transporting of clients
  • Provide companionship and cognitive stimulation
  • Ability to follow care plans and provide accurate documentation/charting

Qualifications
  • Prior experience supporting individuals with Alzheimer’s, dementia, or memory loss preferred
  • Must reside in the Langley area (Langley, Aldergrove, Cloverdale) or be fully willing and able to reliably commute to shifts across Langley
  • Health Care Aide Certificate or equivalent (foreign-trained nurse, nursing student)
  • Current CPR/First Aid training or willingness to obtain
  • CRC for Vulnerable Sector (valid for 5 years) or willingness to obtain
  • Ability to travel around the local area
  • Access to Internet / smartphone with data
