Description

The Model Host Person, Altair is responsible for creating a warm, polished, and memorable first impression for guests entering the Altair lounge. This role manages the door, reservations, waitlists, guest seating, and host stand flow while maintaining exceptional communication with managers, service staff, and guests. The ideal candidate is polished, personable, poised, and highly organized, with the ability to anticipate guest needs and deliver a refined, personalized level of service in an upscale and luxurious environment while representing Altair's elevated service standards and brand identity.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
  • Welcome guests in a warm, polished, and professional manner, creating an elevated first impression and setting the tone for the Altair experience.
  • Manage the door, reservations, waitlists, walk-ins, VIPS, and seat charts accurately and efficiently while maintaining a seamless flow of guests.
  • Demonstrate discretion and professionalism when interacting with VIPs, high-profile guests, and distinguished visitors.
  • Handle guest inquiries, special requests, and service concerns with professionalism and grace
  • Timely escort and seat guests according to floor plan, pacing, and service flow, provide accurate wait times, communicate updates clearly and provide personalized and attentive service.
  • Anticipate guest needs and proactively assist guests before they need to ask and also approach guests while they are in close proximity.
  • Maintain a poised, polished, and engaging presence at the host stand and throughout the guest experience.
  • Be knowledgeable about Altair's menu, beverage offerings, experiences, hours, policies, and amenities and confidently communicate this information to guests.
  • Complete opening, shift-change, and closing duties for the host stand and entry area, along with front-of-house side work such as menu organization, station cleanliness, cleaning, stocking, and folding silverware.
  • Provide thoughtful recommendations and identify opportunities to enhance the guest experience through additional offerings, including Experience Passes, bottle service, and other AREA15 experiences.
  • Be familiar with happenings around the district and be able to thoughtfully entice guests to extend their stay or return to the venue.
  • Maintain an immaculate, organized, and fully stocked host stand and entry area at all times.
  • Monitor the restaurant entrance and lounge flow to support a seamless guest experience and balanced service sections.
  • Work collaboratively with servers, bartenders, managers, and other team members to ensure seamless and elevated service.
  • Be a brand advocate by providing guests with accurate information regarding Altair, AREA15 venues, menus, pricing, and experiences.
  • Communicate effectively with all team members and guests while maintaining a warm, polished, and professional demeanor.
  • Participate in promotional activities and themed events - posing for pictures, wearing uniforms, logo apparel, or costumes, and engaging in marketing efforts to enhance the overall guest experience.
  • Respond to guest concerns and resolve complaints professionally, escalating to management when necessary.
  • Must stay organized, handle various projects at one time, follow up and make accurate decisions.
  • Answer guest questions regarding menus, dining experiences, hours and venue policies.
  • Communicate guest counts, special requests, celebrations, accessibility needs and seating changes to management and service teams.
  • Maintain an organized, elegant front-of-house presentation at all times
  • Follow all company policies, health standards, and safety procedures.
  • Exhibit ART! at all times.
  • Adhere to department and company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a polished, professional appearance and uphold venue grooming and uniform standards.
  • Work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Position Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
  • Applicants must be 21 years of age or older
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
  • Comfortable working in a creative, entrepreneurial start-up environment, introducing new concepts and innovations.
  • Requires a minimum of 1 year experience in food and beverage services within a high-volume venue
  • Comfortable using reservation and table-management software (e.g., OpenTable, or similar)
  • Ability to manage reservations, waitlists, and VIP/guest-list logistics with accuracy and discretion
  • Strong problem-solving skills and grace under pressure in a high-energy, fast-paced environment
  • Ability to maintain composure and stay focused
  • Ability to maintain personal integrity
  • Ability to stay, organized, handle various projects at one time, following up and making accurate decisions.
  • Valid work cards (Health Card)
  • Must be able to push and lift up to 20 lbs.
  • Ability to work from a standing position for the entire duration of a scheduled shift.
  • Ability to perform reaching and stooping motions repeatedly
  • Ability to understand, speak, read, and write the English language.
  • Computer skills in Microsoft applications. (Excel, Outlook, Word, etc.)
  • Availability for varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to work in an environment subject to varying levels of noise, crowds, flashing lights, and smoke.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions including but not limited to extreme heat, sun exposure, wind, rain, extreme cold.
