Job description

SUMMARY

Participates in the day-to-day operations of the human resources responsibilities and activities of Raybern’s Foods. Oversee recruitment processes, employee relations, regulatory compliance, and training and development. 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:


Human Resources:


  • As a member of the Human Resources team, participates in the daily workflow of the Human Resources department to include providing superior customer service to associates and other internal customers, processing personnel changes and benefits paperwork, plant communications, staffing and hiring, leave of absence management, timecard oversight, associate relations and investigations, and other direct support of the facility.
  • Maintain accurate employment records related to events such as hiring, termination, leaves, transfers, or promotions.
  • Assist with the administration and communication of policies, procedures, programs, and benefits. 
  • Assist HR Manager in addressing employee relations issues, such as harassment allegations, work complaints, or other employee concerns.
  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, this may include safety training, and annual training.
  • Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with temporary staffing agency.
  • Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
  • Conducts new hire orientation and tracks employee recognition/bonus programs.
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to HR Manager.
  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Payroll:

  • Back up for payroll on a weekly basis (ADP).
  • May Review payroll reports and transactions for accuracy.
  • Track deductions and garnishments.
  • Perform benefits tracking, deductions, and other miscellaneous accounting items.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

 

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university
  • 3 - 5 years employee relations/ generalist related experience and/or training in Human Resources
  • 2 years of experience as an HR Coordinator
  • Combination of education and experience.
