Salary Range: $25.61 - $30.00 per hour

Job Description: Q.E.D. Systems, Inc., an experienced Marine Engineering firm, has an immediate opening for a Human Resources Generalist. This position is available in our office in Port Orchard, WA. The ideal candidate will possess 5-10 years of experience within the Human Resources field.

Job Requirements/skill sets: In the role of Human Resources Generalist, you will work under the leadership of the West Coast Assistant Human Resources Manager, and we’ll count on you to:

  • Use corporate systems to maintain employee records and process personnel actions
  • Assist in gathering data for issues and claims as needed
  • Review employee system queries periodically for accuracy of information
  • Answer basic policy and procedure questions
  • Facilitate employee onboarding and termination activities
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Q.E.D. policies and procedures
  • Understand Q.E.D. benefit plan provisions, assist with employees' benefit-related questions
  • Perform other duties as needed

Required Qualifications:

  • 5-10 years related experience
  • Proficiency with MS Office including Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and strong client service ability
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and various managers in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-motivated, well-organized and detail-oriented
  • Ability to handle confidential information
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
  • Experience with HRIS preferred
  • Knowledge of Washington State Labor Laws preferred

Education Requirements: High School Graduate, Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in human resources, business or related field preferred. SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred.

Security Clearance/Naval Facility Access: U.S. citizenship required. Must be eligible for and be able to maintain a U.S. Secret Clearance. Be able to access military facilities, naval shipyards, and private shipyards.
