Job description

Academic Req
Required - Associate degree in Human Services or related field or a certification in a Health and Human Services area with applicable experience
Preferred - Bachelor's degree in Human Services or related field

Work Experience
Minimum of 1 years in a health and human services role actively assisting clients. Preferred 1 year supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities; Familiarity with ICF standards and PCC (PointClickCare) documentation strongly preferred.

Work hours for the position
This is a 48-hour, on-site weekend shift beginning Friday at 3:30 PM and ending Sunday at 4:00 PM. Weekend Relief staff are required to remain on campus and provide continuous support and supervision to residents throughout the entire shift. A private room with an attached bathroom is provided for personal use during the shift. Staff are expected to sleep on-site and be available as needed, but do not reside on campus outside of this scheduled shift.

Summary
The Assistant House Manager(AHM) provides essential weekend support to residents in a group home for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This role ensures a safe, supportive, and engaging home environment by assisting with daily routines, implementing care plans, and supporting resident independence. The AHM communicates and collaborates with the House Manager and other support staff to ensure consistency and quality of care.

To successfully perform this job, the employee may be expected to perform the following, with or without reasonable accommodations in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990:

Essential Functions
Provide direct support to residents including assistance with hygiene, grooming, meals, and housekeeping.
Assist each resident in achieving their active treatment goals, providing coaching and support through all interactions, and documenting in PCC.
Promote independence and offer meaningful choices to each resident.
Assist residents as needed with hygiene, grooming, laundry, housekeeping, and meal preparation using established menus.
Administer and document medications following BV protocols.
Attend and contribute to interdisciplinary team meetings and care planning sessions.
Provide transportation for resident appointments, activities, and errands as scheduled.
Maintain a safe and comfortable home environment throughout the weekend.
Communicate clearly with residents, staff, and on-call leadership as needed.
Conduct and document required safety and emergency preparedness drills as scheduled.
Follow scheduled activities and provide engaging weekend programming.
Ensure all documentation in PCC is complete and submitted prior to shift end.

Measurable Deliverables
Follow the direction of the House Manager related to schedules, routines and other activities essential for continuity of operations.
Maintain accurate and timely resident documentation in PCC including MARs, TARs, progress notes, incident reports, behavior logs, and daily care records.
Support implementation of person-centered plans, behavior support plans, and medical protocols as directed by the IDT.
Maintain current training certifications and complete all required annual trainings.
Follow emergency protocols and document all incidents appropriately.
Communicate weekend updates and concerns to the House Manager.
Model and reinforce positive, respectful behavior among residents and staff.
Participate in emergency response and evacuations per BV protocol.
Promote a secure, calm, and supportive living environment for all residents
Administer and document medications and follow medical protocols.

Requirements
21 years of age or older.
Valid Texas driver's license with a good driving record.
Proof of work eligibility status upon request.
Must pass all pre-employment and annual background checks (Criminal History, Employee Misconduct, Nurse Aide Registry, driving check).
Pass a pre-employment drug screen and participate in random drug screenings throughout employment.
Knowledge of abuse, neglect, and exploitation indicators and reporting requirements.
Demonstrated ability to:
o Communicate clearly and professionally in both written and verbal formats.
o Use discretion and maintain confidentiality at all times.
o Set boundaries, reinforce positive behavior, and use de-escalation techniques.
o Organize tasks and manage time independently.
o Work collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team.
o Administer First Aid and CPR as needed.
Model culturally competent, respectful, and professional conduct.
