Job description

Brooklyn Heights Montessori School (BHMS), a thriving learning community, serving 260 students from two years old through 8th grade, seeks a new Head of School to start in July 2027. Located in the beautiful Cobble Hill neighborhood of Brooklyn, BHMS recently celebrated its 60th anniversary and in recent years has successfully doubled down in its Montessori foundation as a differentiator. The school's program is firmly grounded in the Montessori philosophy, combining the best thinking in brain research and best practices in education, balancing academic excellence and a joyful, child-centered environment. The unofficial motto - Boldly BHMS. Joyfully Montessori - is evident in the day-to-day experience for students, families, faculty, and staff and in the outcomes for graduates who go out into the world prepared and eager to do great things.

The Head of School at BHMS reports to the Board of Trustees and is responsible for the leadership of all aspects of the School, including, but not limited to, curriculum and program, hiring, operations, facilities, marketing, admissions, budgeting, and fundraising. The salary range will be $400,000 to $475,000 depending on experience.

BHMS has engaged Resource Group 175 to lead the search for a new Head of School. A detailed position statement will be forthcoming in the fall, but we encourage you to visit the BHMS website to learn more about the School.
