Position Overview

Goodwill HealthCare is seeking a dedicated and skilled full-time Physician Assistant to join our Primary Care surgical center team in Springfield, Illinois. In this role, you will have the opportunity to diagnose and treat a variety of health conditions while promoting preventative healthcare practices. As an integral part of our medical team, you will work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure our patients receive the highest quality care.

Work Environment

The Physician Assistant position is located onsite at our Surgical Center, where you will engage with a diverse patient population seeking outpatient care. The work schedule consists of 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with operating hours extending to 5:00 PM. You will be part of a collaborative team that includes five physicians and five nurse practitioners, creating a dynamic and supportive atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive physical examinations and review patientsโ€™ medical histories.

  • Order and analyze diagnostic tests, including blood tests, X-rays, and other imaging to assess patient health.

  • Diagnose health conditions and create individualized treatment plans for chronic and infectious diseases.

  • Prescribe medications and monitor patient responses to treatment.

  • Maintain accurate medical records and ensure adherence to healthcare protocols and regulations.

  • Educate patients and their families about health conditions, treatment options, and preventive measures.

  • Promote healthy lifestyle choices and disease prevention strategies among patients.

  • Participate in ongoing professional development and research initiatives.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Physician Assistant at Goodwill HealthCare, you will serve a diverse patient population, ranging from acute care cases to ongoing management of chronic conditions. Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in a similar setting, including primary care, internal medicine, or urgent care.

Compensation and Benefits
