THIS IS A SEASONAL POSITION WITH NO BENEFITS.
JOB SUMMARY:
Assists in the day-to-day operation of athletic programs and facilities. Employees will perform their tasks under direct and general supervision of the Athletic Coordinator.
Examples of Work Performed: works directly with participants in athletic programs monitoring the use of facilities and supervising activities such as basketball, volleyball, badminton, table tennis, dodge ball, indoor soccer, softball, baseball and other appropriate programs and activities. Organizes and promotes activities and events during "open gym" hours. Opens and closes Cane Creek Gymnasium and SportsPlex. Insures that the facilities are clean, safe, and that all equipment is inspected and ready for use? cleans restrooms and concession stand? sells concessions; collects entry fees and accurately accounts for revenue; monitors use of facilities and enforces rules and regulations; assists staff in preparing daily and weekly reports regarding the athletics division; works closely with supervisor to insure programs run smoothly; makes suggestions for improvements; performs related duties as required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of equipment and supplies needed to operate a gymnasium
Knowledge of recreation games and activities appropriate for a gymnasium
Knowledge of concession operation and food services
Knowledge of basic computer operation
Ability to account for monies received
Ability to work a flexible and fluctuating schedule
Ability to develop an effective working relationship with the public and co-workers
REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience working in an athletic setting and an environment with direct contact with the public. Some recreation programming experience and a valid Tennessee driver's license are required.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Physical:
Requires good organizational and communication skills. Must be able to perform moderate physical tasks involving lifting, climbing, stretching, and bending.
Environmental:
Requires ability to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
