Touchmark, an Oregon-based, award-winning developer, owner and operator of full-service retirement communities in the western United States and Canada, is excited to bring a new community to Portland's lushly forested West Hills in 2018.ย 

Touchmark in the West Hills, nestled on 80 forested acres just three miles from downtown Portland, will feature approximatelyย 270 residences comprised of single-family homes, garden homes, independent apartment homes, and licensed-care homes. The majority of the campus will remain as open space - offering residents such luxuries as walking trails, lakes, vineyards and a winery producing pinot noir, courtyards and plazas, garden plots with a greenhouse, a 40,000 square foot Clubhouse and Health & Fitness Center, and a rooftop terrace.

Job Description

Our Home Care Services team, which will serve residents of Touchmark in the West Hills and will operate out of our beautiful community, is currently seeking compassionate and hospitality-minded people to join us as Home Care Assistants.ย  This is an incredibly special opportunity to make a positive impact in the life of another person on a daily basis, and to build relationships with some amazing people at the same time.ย 

As a Home Care Assistant, you will assist residents with a variety of daily living activities in the comfort of their own homes - activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming; general housekeeping and laundry tasks; nutritious meal planning and preparation; and grocery shopping, to name a few.ย  You will also provide something that is so important to everyone: companionship, which may be in the form of reading a book together, going for walks, doing crafts, listening to music together, or just having a simple conversation.

We offer very flexible schedules, but Home Care Assistants must be available to work at least 20 hours per week.

Qualifications

No experience is necessary but ideal candidates must have a heart for serving others, as well as:ย

  • A high school diploma or equivalent

  • A valid driver's license and current auto insurance coverage

  • A genuine interest in caring for elderly residents and working in a geriatric environment

  • The ability to maintain patient and tactful composure when dealing with residents, family members, staff members and visitors
