This Veterinary Assistant role is focused on supporting veterinarians and veterinary technicians while delivering high-quality patient care, client education, and hospital efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with patient care and workflow.
  • Prepare for and perform tasks that do not require direct veterinarian or technician involvement.
  • Monitor hospitalized and surgical patients as permitted by state regulations.
  • Educate clients on preventive care, wellness plans, hospital services, and pet health.
  • Obtain patient histories and maintain accurate medical records.
  • Ensure a clean, safe, organized, and compliant hospital environment.
  • Assist with surgeries when applicable.
  • Utilize veterinary assistant skills in accordance with NAVTA guidelines and state practice acts.
