Controller – Must-Have Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience.
  • Experience with financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and financial compliance.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience using accounting software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to present financial information to executive leadership and Boards of Directors.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating across multiple departments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous nonprofit accounting experience preferred.

Controller – Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Oversee all accounting and financial operations.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Lead the annual budgeting process.
  • Develop financial forecasts and perform variance analysis.
  • Monitor organizational cash flow and liquidity.
  • Establish, implement, and maintain strong internal controls.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations.
  • Coordinate and manage the annual external audit.
