Job description

Position Title: Restaurant Floor Manager (Breakfast)

Supervisor: Farm Food and Beverage Services Manager

Employee Status: Seasonal, Full and part time

Location: On-site (99 Inn Road, Shelburne, VT 05482)

Start & End Date: Now - October 22, 2026

Pay Rate: $25 - $28/hour

Staff housing: Please inquire as there are very limited options available for seasonal positions.

Work Schedule: 7 day operation; Typical schedule is 5 days, 6:30AM - 2:00PM

What You’ll Do

Leadership & Team Management:

  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of dedicated staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.

  • Lead by example and work side by side with your teams.

  • Facilitate ongoing training, are clear with your directions, receptive and open to feedback, and are patient as your team learns the ropes.

  • Value team members’ differences and thrive when working with a diverse team. You are comfortable working with individuals and groups of diverse backgrounds, experiences and skill levels.

Guest Experience:

  • Ensure exceptional service and a warm, welcoming atmosphere for all guests.

  • When difficulties arise you are able to find creative solutions. You see an unhappy guest and consider it an opportunity to find a solution, improve someone’s day and deepen a relationship.

  • Continuously seek opportunities to enhance the dining experience, incorporating feedback from guests and staff.

Operational Excellence & Sustainability Practices:

  • Oversee daily operations of the dining room, including staff scheduling, inventory management, and adherence to health and safety regulations.

  • Assist the Food and Beverage Manager with maintenance of the POS system, updating of all menu items, generating & maintenance of daily reports and tip-pool.

  • Support with pre-season setup and postseason breakdown of pantry/dining room.

  • Lead the staff and promote continual sustainable dining room practices including waste reduction, compost and recycling, water-saving practices and reducing energy consumption.


Core Qualifications


  • Proven experience in a leadership role, ideally within the hospitality field, dining or restaurant setting, but open to various leadership experiences.

  • Strong commitment to sustainability, where it intersects with the dining experience.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.

  • Inventory management experience

  • Experience with a Point of Sales system and online reservation systems.

  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Additional Valued Qualifications

  • A passion for farm to table food and hospitality.

  • Experience using systems and tools such as Google Workspace (all Google Suite tools), event planning, point of sale, dining and room reservations.


Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • Being active for extended periods of time and working in settings with limited air conditioned work environments depending on the location.

  • Fast-paced work environment.

  • Carrying and moving items up/down stairs and over uneven terrain, weighing up to 40 lbs.
