Assistant Supervisor - Assistant Boat Administrator
Schedule: Hours Vary Includes mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events

What You'll Do
As the Assistant Supervisor - Assistant Boat Administrator, you'll help oversee operations, programs, events, rentals, and staff for the Sweet Breeze riverboat and related boating activities. This is a hands-on leadership role that combines event coordination, customer service, operations management, and outdoor recreation. You'll help create exceptional experiences for residents and visitors while supporting one of Fort Wayne's most unique attractions.
Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate Sweet Breeze programs, tours, rentals, educational field trips, and special events
  • Supervise and schedule seasonal staff, volunteers, contractors, and event support personnel
  • Meet with renters, vendors, caterers, and community partners to ensure successful events and rentals
  • Assist with boat operations, maintenance, cleaning, fueling, safety monitoring, ticket sales, and revenue deposits
  • Create promotional content, program descriptions, social media materials, attendance records, and operational reports

Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Provides routine supervision of approximately 10-24 seasonal staff, contractors, and volunteers

What You Bring | Education & Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Two years of event programming, recreation, hospitality, tourism, customer service, or related experience preferred
  • Experience working with public events, rentals, or outdoor recreation programs preferred
  • Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes evenings, weekends, and holidays

Preferred Certifications
  • Indiana Boating Safety Course Certificate
  • CPR and First Aid Certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)
  • Bloodborne Pathogen Training
  • Valid Indiana Driver's License
