Job description

This role is for one of Weekday's clients

Location: Malcolm, Nebraska
Compensation: $65,000-$75,000 + Full Benefits + Annual Bonus
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM-5:30 PM

About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized, proactive, and trustworthy Private Household Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of a busy family household. This is a long-term opportunity for someone who takes genuine pride in anticipating needs, creating structure, coordinating multiple priorities, and making everyday life easier for the family.

This is much more than a childcare or administrative position. You will serve as a trusted household partner, coordinating schedules, vendors, errands, meals, projects, family logistics, and household support to ensure everything runs smoothly.

The family already has professional cleaning, gardening, and household support in place, allowing the Household Manager to focus on coordination, organization, planning, and overall household operations.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage household schedules, appointments, calendars, and family logistics.
  • Coordinate vendors, contractors, service providers, and household projects.
  • Plan groceries, meals, and prepare healthy family meals as needed.
  • Run errands and handle household-related purchases using family vehicles.
  • Support three school-aged children before and after school when required.
  • Coordinate with the Household Helper and delegate appropriate responsibilities.
  • Organize household spaces and establish efficient systems and routines.
  • Anticipate upcoming needs and proactively address potential issues.
  • Manage competing priorities while maintaining clear communication with the family.
  • Track household projects, appointments, and important commitments.
  • Help coordinate family travel and other special events or activities.
  • Maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in all household matters.
  • Build a trusted, professional, long-term relationship with the family.
What We're Looking For

Candidates may come from a variety of backgrounds, including:

  • Private Household Manager
  • Executive Assistant
  • Personal Assistant
  • Estate Manager
  • Office Manager
  • Operations Coordinator
  • Family Assistant
  • Senior Nanny with household management experience

More important than a specific job title is your ability to take ownership, anticipate needs, communicate proactively, and create order in a busy environment.

Ideal Candidate
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proactive and naturally anticipates what needs to be done.
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities and changing schedules.
  • Confident coordinating vendors, contractors, and household projects.
  • Able to respectfully communicate priorities and provide recommendations.
  • Calm, dependable, discreet, and professional.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Genuinely enjoys helping others and creating a well-run environment.
  • Interested in establishing a stable, long-term relationship with the family.
Communication & Judgment

Strong communication is essential to success in this position. The ideal candidate will keep the family informed, ask thoughtful questions, communicate changes early, and provide practical recommendations when priorities compete.

You should be comfortable taking ownership rather than simply waiting for instructions, while also knowing when an issue requires the family's input.

Schedule & Travel
  • Monday-Friday, generally 7:30 AM-5:30 PM.
  • Occasional flexibility may be required based on family needs.
  • The family typically travels 2-3 times per year and would welcome the Household Manager joining when possible.
  • Travel is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Travel plans are generally made in advance, with all travel expenses covered.
Compensation & Benefits
  • $65,000-$75,000, depending on experience.
  • Annual discretionary bonus.
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • 401(k).
  • Paid time off.
  • Paid holidays.
  • Family vehicle available for work-related driving and errands.
  • Stable, long-term opportunity with an appreciative family.
Why This Opportunity Stands Out

This is an opportunity to become an integral part of a family's day-to-day life while taking meaningful ownership of household operations.

The family has intentionally structured the position with additional household support so the Household Manager can focus on planning, coordination, organization, problem-solving, and creating a smooth and efficient household environment.

If you are someone who enjoys anticipating needs, solving problems, creating calm from complexity, and building long-term trust, this could be an excellent opportunity.
