Job description

Join Our Team at El Dorado Kitchen as Administrative Assistant - Culinary Department!

Location: El Dorado Kitchen - In the heart of beautiful Sonoma, CA Hours: 28-32 hours per week Compensation: $28-$30 per hour DOE

This position is primarily weekday daytime hours. Candidates must be flexible to occasionally work weekends, holidays, or evenings based on business volume, events and period-end deadlines. Preferred bi-lingual Spanish.

Are You Our Next Culinary Admin Superstar?

We're looking for someone with strong administrative and organizational skills who takes pride in keeping operations running smoothly behind the scenes. This role requires bilingual fluency in English and Spanish to communicate effectively with kitchen and vendor teams. Prior F&B or hospitality experience is a plus, but what matters most is reliability, attention to detail, and comfort with the day-to-day systems of a busy kitchen (ordering, invoicing, scheduling, vendor coordination). This is a great fit for someone who wants to be part of a well-loved local establishment and take real ownership of the work that keeps a restaurant humming.

What You'll Do:

Be the Administrative Maestro:

  • Manage our digital inventory systems and maintain our recipe database
  • Coordinate staff schedules and keep our team running like a well-oiled machine
  • Process invoices and track expenses (because someone needs to keep the chefs from ordering gold-plated whisks!)
  • Create reports that transform mountains of data into actionable insights

Support Our Team:

  • Help recruit culinary talent using HR platforms
  • Coordinate onboarding and maintain employee records
  • Track attendance and schedule training sessions
  • Keep all our documentation in perfect order

Keep Us Compliant:

  • Maintain Health Department records (because food safety is kind of a big deal!)
  • Track certifications and licenses
  • Document temperature logs and sanitation audits
  • Process and file incident reports

Become Our Communication Hub:

  • Serve as the primary admin contact for kitchen operations
  • Coordinate between departments to keep information flowing
  • Schedule and organize kitchen meetings
  • Maintain communication boards and announcements

What Makes You Perfect For This Role:

  • You're a wizard with Microsoft Office and can make Excel spreadsheets sing
  • You're organized enough to make Marie Kondo jealous
  • You can juggle multiple tasks without dropping a single ball
  • You thrive in a fast-paced environment and can maintain your cool under pressure
  • You have an eye for detail that would make Sherlock Holmes proud
  • You enjoy being part of a passionate culinary team (even if you don't cook!)

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in Business Administration, Office Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Two years in an administrative support role
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with data entry and records management
  • Strong organizational and time management skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field
  • Previous restaurant or hospitality industry experience
  • Familiarity with restaurant management software
  • Experience processing invoices and purchase orders
  • Spanish language skills

Benefits of Joining El Dorado Kitchen:

  • Flexible schedule in a beautiful Sonoma location
  • Employee meal program
  • Competitive pay at $25-$30/hour
  • Be part of a passionate, creative team
  • Work in one of Wine Country's most celebrated dining destinations
