What jobs can you get with a drafting technology degree?

A drafting technology degree prepares individuals for roles such as drafter, CAD technician, architectural drafter, civil drafter, or mechanical drafter. These positions involve creating technical drawings and plans using CAD software and often require knowledge of engineering or architectural principles.

What jobs can I get with design technology?

With a background in design technology, you can pursue roles such as CAD technician, drafting technician, architectural drafter, or product designer. These jobs typically require proficiency in design software like AutoCAD or SolidWorks and may involve working in architecture, engineering, or manufacturing environments.

Will CAD drafters be replaced by AI?

CAD drafters are unlikely to be fully replaced by AI in the near future, as their role involves complex interpretation, customization, and collaboration that current AI tools cannot fully replicate. AI can assist with automating repetitive tasks and improving efficiency, but human oversight and expertise remain essential in drafting and design processes. Skills in CAD software, attention to detail, and understanding of engineering or architectural principles are still critical for the role.
