CAD Drafter / Design Assistant
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-driven CAD Drafter to support a specialized design team focused on high-end residential theater spaces. In this role, you will work closely with lead designers to produce precise technical drawings and documentation that bring custom theater projects to life with a high degree of accuracy and coordination.
This position may be based in Addison, TX, offered as full-time or contract, and can be remote. Compensation will be based on experience and qualifications.

ResponsibilitiesProduce detailed drafting packages for luxury home theater projects, including layouts, schematics, seating plans, elevations, sections, details, and construction documents.
Create dimensioned and annotated drawing sets that support design intent and installation accuracy.
Review product literature, installation guides, specifications, diagrams, charts, and related reference materials to inform drafting work.
Identify design and installation challenges and document practical solutions within the drawing set.
Partner with designers to translate concepts into accurate technical documentation.
Maintain consistent communication with internal team members to ensure drawings stay coordinated and up to date.
Contribute to the development and upkeep of CAD standards, templates, and libraries.
Coordinate theater drawings with related systems such as lighting, audio, video, automation, and acoustics.
Revise and refine design documents throughout the project timeline to support client needs and project goals.
Stay current on drafting methods, residential theater design trends, and relevant technology.
Deliver accurate work on schedule in a fast-paced environment.
Optional: assist with 3D renderings in 3ds Max.
QualificationsAssociate's degree in Drafting, CAD Technology, Interior Design, or a related field preferred; bachelor's degree is a plus.
Minimum 2 years of CAD drafting experience required.
Background in interior design, architectural drafting, or a related field is a plus.
Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD required.
Experience with 3ds Max and V-Ray is a plus.
Familiarity with residential theater design and audio/video systems is a plus.
Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, installation manuals, procedures, schematics, diagrams, charts, and graphs.
Strong attention to detail and precision in technical documentation.
Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with designers, engineers, and project teams.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
