Job description

O’Hagan Meyer is looking for an organized and professional litigation Legal Assistant to join our Alexandria, VA office. This individual will provide vital assistance to a team of attorneys by handling case-related tasks, preparing a variety of legal documentation, and managing case files. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proficient in legal terminology, and understands the electronic filing procedures in State and Federal Courts. This will be in office 5 days a week.

Salary range: $80K - $95K. Actual base pay within this range will be determined by several components, including but not limited to, location, relevant experience, internal equity, skills, qualifications, and other job-related factors permitted by law.

Requirements

  • Provide comprehensive litigation support to multiple attorneys, managing heavy and complex caseloads
  • Prepare, revise, proofread, and format pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, and correspondence in compliance with applicable court rules
  • Prepare court filings for state, federal and appellate courts, including electronic and traditional filings
  • Coordinate travel arrangements. Prepare, submit, and track travel and expense reimbursements
  • Assist with discovery and trial support, including document production, exhibit preparation, and court filings. Support scanning, photocopying, and binder preparation as needed
  • Create and maintain filing systems and databases in compliance with office policies to ensure accurate and efficient data retrieval
  • Maintain and monitor litigation calendars, including deadlines, hearings, depositions, and trial dates
  • Perform other duties as assigned
